Course Overview

Our NPORS Excavator 360 Experienced Worker Test (EWT) Course delivers a half-day practical assessment, with no additional theory or practical instruction, and is designed to accommodate up to a maximum of 4 tests. Successful delegates will gain a renewed qualification that will meet the legal requirements laid out by UK regulatory bodies to show they are competent in the safe preparation, operation, loading and unloading of 360-degree Excavators.

In order to attend this course, you must hold the following:

  • A valid UK Passport or Driving Licence.
  • Proof of your valid NPORS Excavator 360 Operators Card.

These will need to be presented to the instructor on the day. This is a requirement of NPORS.

This course consists of a practical assessment only.

This course is for operational site use which is aimed at those who already have a valid, in-date certification and wish to renew their qualification for an additional 3-5 years, depending on the chosen certification route.

Since the operation of this machinery can be physically demanding, delegates must be fit and able to carry out the tasks required in the course program. A good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

Successful delegates will receive a renewed NPORS Excavator 360 Operators Card, which is valid for 3-5 years, depending on the chosen certification route.

By the end of the course, the delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

  • Their industry, the dangers of working in that industry and their responsibilities as an operator
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook for the particular excavator
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
  • Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for excavator use
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
  • Controls and instruments
  • Stability Factors
  • Starting, moving and stopping the excavator
  • Operation of hydraulic controls
  • Loading dumpers
  • Excavating & Levelling
  • Cut to fill
  • Bank battering
  • Digging to depth
  • Operate the excavator safely and efficiently
  • Be able to establish effective communication methods
  • Environmental considerations
  • Carry out all end of shift checks
