Course Overview

Our NPORS Excavator 360 Novice Course delivers up to 10 days of instruction depending on the experience of the delegates, and is designed to teach up to a maximum of 3 delegates per instructor. The course provides novice delegates the knowledge skills needed to prepare, operate, load and unload 360-degree Excavators safely, efficiently and confidently.

Delegates will be taught their responsibilities as an operator, how to conduct pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements, and most importantly, they will gain both a nationally recognised certification and extensive experience with the machinery.

In order to attend this course, you must hold a valid UK Passport or Driving Licence. This will need to be presented to the instructor on the day. This is a requirement of NPORS.

This course consists of a training room lecture, DVD presentation, written assessment, practical training and assessment.

This course is aimed at those who will be required or wish to work with excavators and have limited or no experience.

Since the operation of this machinery can be physically demanding, delegates must be fit and able to carry out the tasks required in the course program. A good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

Successful delegates will receive an NPORS Excavator 360 Operators Card, which is valid for 3-5 years, depending on the chosen certification route.

By the end of the course, the delegates will be able to answer questions on and perform the following:

  • Their industry, the dangers of working in that industry and their responsibilities as an operator
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook for the particular excavator
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
