Managing Director & Senior Instructor

Steve Booker is the Managing Director, co-founder, and senior instructor of Kentec Training. With an extensive career in the access industry, Steve has established himself as a pivotal figure, influencing standards and practices across multiple organisations. He serves as a Council member and Director of the Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association (PASMA), and he currently holds the positions of Chairman of PASMA and Vice Chairman of the Ladder Association. Additionally, Steve chairs both the IPAF and Ladder Association Training Committees, highlighting his dedication to advancing safety and training standards within the industry.

Renowned for his expertise, Steve is frequently invited to speak at seminars and conduct courses for senior health and safety professionals from various sectors, including local authorities, utilities, IOSH groups, PASMA, the Ladder Association, and the Health and Safety Executive (H.S.E.). His leadership and commitment ensure that Kentec Training maintains exceptional service and instructor standards, consistently meeting the high expectations of market-leading clients and contractors.

Director

Kandy is a director and co-founder of Kentec Training and has supported Steve from the very first day in building Kentec Training into one of the leading training providers in the UK.

Kandy has always been tenacious in achieving the very highest standard possible in customer service and has a broad depth of knowledge and experience in the training industry offering support and guidance to both customers and our team. Kandy’s friendly and supportive nature has ensured Kentec Training’s success and continued customer satisfaction.

Operations Director

Jadie leads our sales and administration teams. She is responsible for ensuring our clients, associates, employees and instructors are fully supported. She oversees projects for the company, concentrating on growth and efficiency. She also heads up the tendering and procurement for our larger customers. 

Jadie is a graduate of Coventry University, her drive and focus on achieving outstanding results, makes her a great asset to Kentec and our future. Jadie has successfully completed the Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner, IOSH Managing Safely, and both the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and National Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.

She is currently undertaking the NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health and Safety.

Training Operations Manager

Dave is responsible for the day-to-day management of our training operations and instructor wellbeing. Dave is a qualified PASMA, Ladder Association, IOSH, and First Aid Instructor. He started his career in Health & Safety back in 2005 whilst overseas and has successfully completed both his NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Over the past 13 years, he has learned that to make this subject effective and viable, it has to be managed and delivered in the right way.

Dave has recently successfully completed the Mental Health First Aid England instructor course, NUCO Mental Health instructor course, and Safeguarding course. Delegates enjoy Dave's relaxed, interactive and down-to-earth style of teaching, allowing everyone to learn from each other and pass on their knowledge and experience.

Dave now heads our instructor team as our Training Operations Manager and Lead Instructor ensuring continuous quality and effective delivery of our training courses and support for our ever-growing team of instructors.

Training Services Manager

Laura manages the day-to-day operations, providing guidance and leadership to the training office team. She is also a primary contact for our customers and manages the service of a number of our tender contracts, providing outstanding customer service. Laura supports our social media and marketing campaigns and leads the team on external exhibitions. 

Laura also provides invaluable support to the Operations Director in special projects. 

She believes that customer service is a strong attribute and she thrives to build a great working relationship with all our clients. Laura has achieved her NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. 

Compliance Director

Antony is a member of our compliance and quality assurance team. His primary role is checking all course documentation for accuracy and working with external auditors to ensure we are maintaining the highest standards of compliance. He plays a key role in our internal quality control system. Antony has also successfully completed his NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Marketing & Communications Director

Matthew oversees the marketing and visual branding of Kentec Training, as well as heading the design work on our website and upcoming promotional materials.

Matthew is also a graduate of the University of Derby, and using the knowledge earned with his degree in Visual Effects & Post-Production, he creates the various graphics, videos, and animations you see throughout our social media channels and on Kentec's own bespoke training courses too!

Senior Training Coordinator 

Elliey is a long-standing and key member of our administration team, providing support to our instructors and customers. She processes course bookings, registrations, and certifications.

Additionally, she organises the resources required for each course, communicates with our satellite training centers, and oversees the organisation of all onsite courses.

Elliey also oversees the scheduling of our open courses and organisation of our associate instructors and provides administrative support to our tender contract customers.

Senior Training Coordinator 

Jo is a key member of our administration team, providing support to our instructors, customers and key accounts. She processes course bookings, registrations, and certifications.

Additionally, she organises the resources required for each course and oversees the organisation of all onsite courses.

Jo also oversees the scheduling of our open courses and organisation of our associate instructors and provides administrative support to our tender contract customers.

Jo has recently passed her PASMA Instructor training course too!

Senior Training Coordinator

Alice is a long-standing and key member of our administration team, providing support to our instructors and customers. She processes course bookings, registrations, and certifications.

Additionally, she organises the resources required for each course, communicates with our satellite training centers, and oversees the organisation of all onsite courses.

Alice also oversees the scheduling of our open courses and organisation of our associate instructors and provides administrative support to our tender contract customers.

Training Coordinator

Joanna is a key member of our administration team, providing support to our instructors and customers. She processes course bookings, registrations, and certifications.

Additionally, she organises the resources required for each course and oversees the organisation of all onsite courses.

Joanna also oversees the scheduling of our open courses and organisation of our associate instructors and provides administrative support to our tender contract customers.

Training Coordinator

Jade is a key member of our administration team, providing support to our instructors and customers. She processes course bookings, registrations, and certifications.

She has taken to her role with confidence and charisma, and the team is much greater off because of her.

Sales Consultant

Laura is the newest member of our sales team. Assisting delegates with course details, scheduling course bookings, and ensuring a quality service for our customers.

She has taken to her role with confidence and charisma, and has already found a place in the Kentec team!

Financial Controller

Robert joined our accounting department in 2022 and is a key member of Kentec Training's accounts team.

He provides invaluable accounting and administrative support to ensure that both customer and supplier accounts are accurate and up-to-date.

Training Instructor

James has been with Kentec for many years and has become one of our most respected and sought after instructors. He joined us as an experienced IPAF, PASMA, Ladder and Safety Harness Instructor, however, during his time at Kentec, James has been busy gaining additional instructor qualifications with IPAF, the Ladder Association, Tetra, First Aid, cable avoidance tools as well as achieving both his CIEH Professional Instructor and PTLLs teaching qualifications. He has recently achieved his Fit2Fit Accreditation and NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and is now working towards his P402 Asbestos Survey and Sampling Course.

James’s proven skill, support and experience when instructing has resulted in excellent feedback from his course delegates at all levels. James was recently appointed Lead Instructor for IPAF, Tetra and Specialist courses where his role is to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our training to our valued clients.

Jason joined us here at Kentec in July 2019. Jason joined the army straight from leaving school at the young age of 15yrs and 8mths old. He was a Queen's guardsman and was also a battlefield medic for 6 years. After being involved in an explosion in Afghanistan his career in the army came to a sudden end after an injury that he sustained.

After being medically discharged he found a new love of teaching! He started working with young offenders within the construction industry which made him realise his passion for training and empowering people. He has recently found a new career in training first aid, working at height and health & safety, which brings him to working at Kentec Training.

We hope you will get the pleasure of attending one of Jason's training courses and finding out more about him very soon. Since joining Kentec, Jason has gained his PASMA, British Abrasive Federation, and Ladder Association instructor status and is currently working toward his NCRQ LEVEL 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety.

Chester joined our team in March 2023, and is already well underway with upskilling and expanding his instructing capabilities. He recently passed his Ladder Instructor course and is looking forward into the future at other avenues he can expand into. He is a very welcome addition to the team and we're happy to have him!

Adrian was a long-standing independent instructor who has since decided to join our fantastic instructor team full-time in September 2023. Mick joined our instructor team in November 2024 primarily as our dedicated full-time Forklift instructor, bringing with him a wealth of experience from an extensive 40+ year career in the forklift training industry. The whole Kentec team welcomes him onboard!

Andy is a versatile and diligent instructor with over a decade of experience teaching plant & machinery training courses, such as our NPORS course library. His training courses are extensive, yet informative, and reflect the high-quality you can expect from Kentec Training.

Tony Warren has over 20+ years experience in the work at height, powered access and lifting sectors as a training instructor. As the Managing Director of Highreach Training Services and as Kentec's training partner in Scotland, he oversees all of Kentec's training out of our Glasgow training centre.
