This course is aimed at personnel who are or will be involved in work at height using personal fall protection equipment and will be responsible for rescue and retrieval of casualties after arrested falls using safety harnesses, lanyards and associated P.F.P.E (Personal Fall Protection Equipment) in the work place.
As the course includes the Harness Safe Use & Inspection Course, there are no prerequisites for this course, however a working knowledge and experience of fall protection equipment and a good head for heights is essential.
The use of Rescue and Evacuation equipment with Safety Harnesses requires that you comply with regulations and industry standards and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, therefore literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for all WAH Rescue personnel attending this course.
Similarly, since the inspection, operation and use of WAH Rescue and Evacuation equipment can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
Successful delegates will receive e-certification accredited by Kentec Training valid for a period of 3 years from the date of the course. Delegates will gain an understanding of current relevant legislation and be able to use a variety of rescue descent devices safely, in line with current approved methods and manufacturer’s instructions.
